Olivia H. Renensland joined Kostelanetz & Fink in 2020 after working as an associate for more than four years at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton, LLP. While at Cleary Gottlieb, Ms. Renensland represented a range of clients in regulatory enforcement matters, internal investigations, and complex commercial litigation. Ms. Renensland served on a team that secured multiple resolutions with U.S. and foreign regulators and authorities in connection with benchmark rates investigations, and she represented the same client in various stages of follow-on civil litigation both in the United States and worldwide. Ms. Renensland also represented financial institutions in securities litigation and civil litigation relating to residential mortgage-backed securities.
Ms. Renensland has experience representing individuals in criminal proceedings, including in connection with federal grand jury subpoenas. Ms. Renensland also has represented individuals on a pro bono basis, including representation of a student with disabilities before the New York City Department of Education, and representation of a juvenile defendant sentenced to life without parole in a Miller resentencing hearing.
Ms. Renensland received her J.D. from Duke University School of Law in 2015. While in law school, Ms. Renensland served on the journal Law and Contemporary Problems, including as Editor-in-Chief from 2014-2015. Ms. Renensland graduated from the University of Chicago in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts in Classical Studies and a minor in French.
