Over the past few months, Kostelanetz & Fink, LLP, has been expanding, as our Washington, D.C., office continues to grow and our bench of professionals in both New York and D.C. gets deeper. At the same time, we’ve been gratified that a number of our paralegals were accepted to law schools at some of the country’s top universities, while we added new paralegals from some of those same universities. A few of the recent highlights of these welcome developments include:
Former Prosecutor Daniel Davidson
Joins K&F as an Associate
Daniel Davidson joined K&F from the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office. Dan graduated from New York University Law School in 2016, where he was on the Journal of Legislation and Public Policy. He graduated from Brown University in 2011. During law school, Dan was a summer associate at Fried Frank and an intern at the U.S. Department of Justice, the Chambers of the Honorable Kiyo A. Matsumoto, a federal judge in Brooklyn, and the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office.
Two K&F Paralegals Start Law School
at Columbia and Stanford
K&F’s paralegal program continues its tradition of training future law students. This year, two of our paralegals left us to start law school.
Tim Wang (left) started at Columbia Law School. Tim joined K&F after completing his undergraduate degree at Columbia University. He began as a paralegal in our New York office and then moved to our D.C. office to assist with its launch.
Anne Warnke (right) ended her tenure at K&F to attend Stanford Law School. Anne had joined K&F from Harvard University.
Two other K&F paralegal alums also started law school this year.
Grant Fergusson started at Harvard Law School. Grant, who had joined us upon graduating from Yale University, followed up his K&F job with a master’s degree in public policy at the University of Cambridge before heading to law school. Sam Leff started law school this year at the University of California, Irvine. Sam, who came to K&F after graduating from New York University, joined the Peace Corps in 2015 after his tenure at K&F.
Tim, Anne, Grant, and Sam are just the most recent K&F paralegal program alums in law school.
Emilie Klovning is in her second year at Columbia Law School. Emilie had joined K&F after graduating with a dual degree from Columbia University and Sciences Po in France. She spent this past summer as an intern for the Honorable Richard M. Berman, a federal judge in Manhattan. She has accepted a summer associate position with Sullivan & Cromwell.
Laura Zhu is in her final year at New York University Law School. Laura had joined K&F from Columbia University and has spent her law school summers with Kirkland & Ellis.
Madeline Hopper, another former K&F paralegal, graduated from Columbia Law School in 2018. Madeline is now an attorney with the Shelby County Public Defender in Memphis, TN.

Georgetown, Stanford and Yale
K&F also welcomed four new college graduates into its Paralegal Program this year.

D.C. Office Continues Expansion with
Externships and Clerkships
K&F’s expanding D.C. office also has been enhanced through law school externships and clerkships.
This summer, Jenn Brooker joined our D.C. office as a law clerk. Jenn is completing her J.D. at Catholic University, where she’s an associate editor of The Catholic University Law Review and the 2019 champion of a national trial competition. Prior to starting her K&F clerkship, Jenn worked in the U.S. Department of Justice Tax Division as a paralegal. She also served as a senior paralegal for the the U.S. Army in Baghdad, Iraq, and Fort Lewis, WA.
K&F has continued its practice of working with externs from the graduate tax law program at the Georgetown University Law Center, which is just across the street from our D.C. office. This semester, Pinky Shodhan, a certified public accountant, is pursuing an externship at K&F. Pinky received her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Los Angeles.
